Our Vision
The K.H. Chambers Center for Excellence in Maternal and Women’s Health was established to continue the rich legacy and enduring tradition of its namesake, Dr. Kenneth H. Chambers — a pioneering leader in equitable obstetrics and gynecology who served the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community for more than four decades.
As one of the first Black OB-GYNs to practice medicine in Charlotte, Dr. Chambers devoted his life to compassionate care, clinical excellence, and advancing access to quality healthcare for all women. His remarkable legacy of service continues to inspire emerging medical and healthcare professionals throughout the region.
Each year, the K.H. Chambers Center of Excellence hosts an annual summit that convenes research scientists, universities, students, hospital staff, and healthcare providers to exchange knowledge, elevate practice, and ensure that Dr. Chambers’ standard of excellence in care continues for generations to come.
